Hands off Iraq

June 5, 2008

Iraq and the crimes of Bush and Blair are in the news again. Bush wants to push through an “alliance” ( a formal treaty would need too much parliamentary/congressional agreement on both the Iraqi and US sides) that will allow the US to rule Iraq forever.

Patrick Cockburn’s article in the Indie shows how Iraq is to become a free fire zone for the US armed forces and even more sinisterly for the “contractors” i.e. mercenaries to be above any kind of law in Iraq.

In Solomon Hughes’s excellent book, War on Terror, Inc. these “contractors” are unveiled as including ex- pro-aparthied terrorists who used guns and bombs against the liberation struggle in the 1980’s. True vermin. These are the people Bush/Bliar have lording it over the Iraqi people.

The plan to have a democracy and regime based on personal freedom in Iraq is no longer needed as a mask. Brute force and divide and rule are to be the instruments of rule in Iraq.

The ends of that rule will be oil profits to Western oil companies, military dominance over the region and the continued use of the US dollar as the currency in which oil is traded.

The last of these allows the US government to offload inflation from its low tax/high military spend policies onto the rest of the world.

Welcome the war criminal in chief the weekend after this. And keep up with the various campaigns around Iraq. The Iraqi people will need your solidarity for years and decades to come.
