Paul King, Ian Tomlinson's son speaking outside Bethnal Green Police Station
There were around a couple of hundred people who marched from Bethnal Green Police Station to Bank of England in memory of Ian Tomlinson. Paul King, Tomlinson’s son, spoke for a few minutes about the death of his father and the family’s search for the truth.

There was no chanting on this demo. The cops stayed in the background (interesting though is that you could see their numbers on their epaulettes clearly!!).

I have been on a number of demos protesting against deaths at the hands of the cops during the past 20-odd years. Marching through a blizzard in Wolverhampton circa 1987 protesting about the death of Clinton McCurbin killed by the cops.

Sean Rigg's family
And 22 years on demonstrating about the death of Ian Tomlinson another death at the hands at the cops. How many more? We marched to Threadneedle Street and stopped to lay flowers at Cornhill where a few speeches were made.

I recognised some people from the UFFC, and spoke briefly to Sean Rigg’s sisters. They spoke about the unanswered questions surrounding the death of their brother and how the IPCC have failed to conduct an independent investigation.

Chris Knight, organiser of the demo, said an ongoing vigil would be held at the spot where the flowers and candles were laid.
More demons will be held. As speakers rightly said we have a right to demonstrate, not to be subjected to violent police brutality.

No more cover-ups.
No justice…No peace..!
I then went and joined the demonstration against the attack on the Tamil people. Will post more later with pix.
