RIP Brittany Murphy

That is really sad… the actor Brittany Murphy has died at 32.

She was wonderful in one of my favourite films of the 1990s… Amy Heckerling’s superb Clueless.

She voiced Luanne in the cartoon ‘King of the Hill’. Also, she starred in ‘Girl, Interrupted’, ‘Sin City’ and ‘Cherry Falls’. I recently watched Drew Barrymore in ‘Riding in Cars with Boys’ which also starred Brittany Murphy. She was someone to watch and would have been interesting to see how she evolved and changed over time.

RIP Brittany

Just who will be the Xmas No. 1

Well, this is the first time I have listened to the Chart Show for over 25 years……. How technology has changed! In the golden oldie days I had a radio….now I listen to the radio on the telly. Digital technology. Oooo well I never.

….C’mon on RATM

Even if RATM doesn’t get to No. 1 it is still kinda politically symbolic especially how just one Facebook Group tapped into a whole lotta rage and created a groundswell of support. The fact that the X-Factor is based on manipulation and mediocrity as well as hype and pap which produces boring bland non-entities who lack imagination and creativity. And the fact Joe X-Factor winner has had his debut single slashed by 63% by desperate and nervous record bosses exposes a lot.

Well the rage against pre-packaged pap has certainly gained momentum and will be one Xmas No. 1 battle to remember!!

UPDATE: YES OH YES!!!! RATM did it …. !!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck you X-Factor and the commodified pap that passes for music!!

Rage against mediocrity!!

The climate blame game

Climate Change Demo 2007

So the media is finger pointing at China blaming them for ‘wrecking the global deal’. Again, sounds like stones and glass houses ‘cos what is the West doing about climate change? Insulating a couple of hundred new houses while shafting Vestas workers. It is difficult to see how Ed Miliband et al are taking it all seriously….. But hey, at least those 4×4 cars will still be driving around screwing the planet.

Madam Miaow for an excellent post exposing the ‘blame game’ and finger pointing at China.

See as well Madam Miaow on BBC World TV.
