Morrissey and his hatful of racist hate

September 4, 2010

As a fan of The Smiths I feel it is my duty to tell Morrissey to shut the f-ck up, I am sick of hearing his hideous racist rantings and the latest one is utterly despicable as well. He is a washed-up talentless has-been who really should f_ck off.

Madam Miaow has written an excellent post on the subject. Also, I think Claude (see the comments box as well) makes a great point about about condemning animal cruelty without resorting to sweeping racist statements. I mean, what about battery farming in the West?

I adored The Smiths/Morrissey as they reflected my own feelings of alienation, the lyrics were truthful yet poignant they were also an antidote against mainstream pap music.

But by the late 1980s Morrissey started to spew forth racism from immigration to some idealistic racist notion of England. His music reflected that racism. I remember people telling me about  seeing Morrissey at Finsbury Park in 1992 wrapping himself in the union flag. My stomach turned at that description.

I am a vegetarian and have been one for many years. Morrissey really gives vegetarians a bad name. It feels like his music is sullying my DVD collection.

Hateful of Hollow? Hatful of Hateful?

Shame on you Morrissey!

Photo short-listed

September 2, 2010

The past couple of months have been utterly crap, emotional numbness with added mood swings while wading through bloody treacle. More than my usual miserablist self. Just want to say many thanks for all the solidarity and support from friends and comrades, also from people who I have only met through the blogosphere who have been kind and understanding, that has really touched me and meant a hell of a lot. It is really valued especially knowing you aint alone!

…. And today I got some of that sparkly good news.

One of my photos has been short-listed for this competition, I received the email telling me it will be published in the brochure advertising the exhibition in Brussels next month. Hopefully the exhibition will come to the UK.

And it was this picture that got me short-listed known as “G20 Woman” along with this caption I wrote describing the event:

“The image is of a woman protester outside the Bank of England, London, on the 1st April 2009, during the G20 protests. She is facing a line of police officers. Her back is towards me, her arms outstretched as in an act of defiance to the line of male police officers.”

Other short-listed photos can be seen here.

More toxic dumpings from Tony Bliar

More toxic right-wing neoliberal dumpings from Tony Bliar….

“If governments don’t tackle deficits, the bill is footed by taxpayers, who fear that big deficits mean big taxes, both of which reduce confidence, investment and purchasing power,” Blair wrote, in sharp criticism of Brown. “We should have taken a New Labour way out of the economic crisis: kept direct taxes competitive, had a gradual rise in VAT and other indirect taxes to close the deficit, and used the crisis to push further and faster on reform.”

Tony Bliar – journey into warmongering & self-justification

September 1, 2010

In response to Blair’s critics over war in Iraq, ‘Do they really suppose I don’t care, don’t feel, don’t regret with every fibre of my being the loss of those who died?’

(Tony Blair – A Journey)

Bliar’s stinking rotten twisted memoirs have been published. I am tempted to buy this journey into warmongering, self-flagellation, defensive, twisted right-wing morality and self-justification piece of fiction but my local independent bookshop haven’t stocked it…yet maybe they don’t want to sully their “New Books” shelf. So in the meantime I have read extracts in various papers.

His legacy as a warmongering criminal (and let’s not forget the proxy wars either) has been seared into the history books along with being the architect of NL… the greedy grasping liar who makes his money through private enterprise and makes a lot of it as well.

No matter how much rehabilitation, self-justification or revisionism there is Blair is still a war criminal with blood on his hands and no amount of trying to show the flawed human side is going to change my mind. Blair didn’t have to go to war, he choose to do so based on lies. That’s why he’s a damned Bliar.

My understanding of the practice of Christianity is to be able to confess your sins in order to gain redemption. To gain redemption Blair has to acknowledge and admit his sins in public. In Blair’s position you can’t privately grieve for what you have done while publicly justifying your actions.

See Mehdi Hasan in New Statesman

Absolute sheer brilliance this…..Seems (via Twitter) that people are moving Bliar’s book to either the fiction section or crime section. Certainly true crime fits the description!
