Defend the NHS!

I attended the UK Uncut protest in Brixton today to highlight the fact NHS services for South Londoners are under threat!

The NHS has to cut £20bn over 3 years.

The Banks have been bailed out by £100bn a year.

Kings College Hospital:

  • cutting £51m
  • axing 55 staf
Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital
  • is making cuts of £27.9m
  • has privatised its pathology lab in a joint venture with Serco.
  • is putting out to tender an urgent care centre, pharmacy and A&E reception.
St George’s
  • £55m cuts.
  • 500 job losses.
  • 3 wards to close.

hi folks we had a big protest in Camden Town too, the banks were all closed down, some more facts a recent investigation by the bbc found HSBC used a tax loophole to divert millions of pounds of NHS money into a Guernsey tax haven. In 2010 a company set up by HSBC made more than £38 million from 33 PFI hospital building schemes and paid only £100,000 in tax, less than half of 1% of the profits. A joint action by keep our nhs public and uk uncut was very effective today outside the HSBC bank in Camden Town lots of awareness raising, donations to the campaigns, die ins, fake blood and a save our nhs monoply board loads of media bods there too a very exciting and productive day

The NHS is on its death-bed literally. I know a doctor who works in a children’s hospital and the tales she tells are horrifying. Children are just being left to die.

Fiona i find the above weird, you should not make this kind of comment without backing it up with some evidence.this is like saying i know someone who works in a bank who is giving away £50 notes. Yes the NHS needs improvement but as part of the Keep Our NHS Public I have been petitioning for the last few years i have spoken to hundreds of people and they have nothing but praise for the service we don,t want a system like in america where most health care companies have been to court for fraud and in some states you are asked for your credit card before you can get treatment in the accident and emergency.

re the above insert private before health care companies
