Vicious ugly-souled misogynist

He’s a piece of work Craig Murray now accusing Zoe Williams of being a “vicious man-hater on the world to pontificate on the DSK case”…

Does anyone on the Left consider Craig Murray worthy of respect?

According to Murray: The Sheridan case, the DSK case and the Assange case have all brought to the fore the true ugliness of sex negative feminism and man hatred, and the extent to which they made inroads into our culture and society just as insidious as the right wing propaganda of the Murdochs. They have also shown how those right wing forces can so easily hijack stupid blinkered man haters to the right wing agenda.

Another nasty little angry rant from a ugly-souled misogynist.

See here  as well.

I can be dead now but Mr Murray come at night with his brother to save me from police in my country. There are many others the like. Where were you?

  2. [...] had been accused of anything else, like robbing a Post Office (remember Peter Hain?), people like HarpyMarx would be extremely suspicious. But throw in a bit of sex, and the stupid idiots dance immediately [...]

I consider Craig Murray worthy of respect, and I’m probably “on the Left”. I didn’t comment on Craig’s article about the Zoe Williams article. I’m not a regular reader of hers, and I don’t know much about Dominique Strauss-Kahn, either his personality or his effect upon the IMF.

Craig has published another article setting out his position more thoroughly; I pretty much agree with that article. You can find it here:

    http://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2011/07/thoughts-on-feminism/

I respect Craig for his work in human rights, for standing up to the government when he was an ambassador, and because he speaks truth to power.

This is my first visit to your blog. I found it because Craig linked to it. This blog looks worthy of respect, too.

I took him off my rss feed a long while ago, can’t remember why. His article might confirm why though.

We need some serious changes to society to make sure everyone gets justice from the justice system. Character assassinations of rape victims is despicable.

    • Clark says:

Chris H, you’ve just assumed that Dominique Strauss-Kahn is guilty. I suggest you read the article I linked above.

      • Chris H says:

I don’t know whether DSK is guilty or not. I described the maid as a ‘rape victim’ as I couldn’t find the right word to use at the time.

I feel that society still has serious issues when it comes to rape. The maid has all sorts of crap brought up about her past which is used to assassinate her character before any trial has begun, to throw doubt upon her reliability with slurs unrelated to the case. DSK on the other hand is subjected to primarily the ‘wink-wink, nudge-nudge’ treatment, where he’s portrayed as a ‘man of the world’, a ‘forceful lover’ and somehow the alleged crime is transformed into the script of a Carry On film.

DSK is given a positive spin because of:

        white
        rich
        influential
        male
        western
        his network

On the other hand the maid has her character assassinated by the media and some bloggers because of other reports, whether they be false or true:

        immigrant
        asylum seeker
might have associates that are involved in drugs
muslim, and one that drinks and parties no less!
        female
        black
apparently some men pay some ‘expenses’ for her (ie involved in prostitution)
        fiddled the tax system
        poor

And all this before we even get to a trial, if indeed it does get that far.

Knock patriarchy and misogyny (and racism) on the head and we might start to get a fair system of justice. A long way to go though. Until then we continually risk treating alleged victims of rape as dirt and belittling the crime of rape.

And yes, my last comment on previous post was a general comment.

Clark, nowhere does Chris H say DSK is guilty. Point to where he is saying that? All he is arguing for is that everyone (and I assume that means the accused and the accuser) gets justice. Instead we constantly get character assassinations of the rape victims.

    That aint justice!

    • Damion says:

Harpy, you’ve just repeated the assumption.

They’re only a victim if there was a crime, so if the guy isn’t guilty, then the person who has had their character assassinated isn’t a victim.

    • Clark says:

Chris H wrote “Character assassinations of rape victims is despicable.”. That assumes that rape occurred. I suppose Chris H could have been making a more general comment, in which case I’d agree, but the context is pretty specific.

You seem to have made a similar assumption. Nafissatou Diallo is someone who has made an allegation. It is not right to refer to her as a “rape victim”.

      • Clark says:

Sorry, my last sentence would be more accurate as “you should not yet include her in the group ‘rape victims’”.
