Protest inside & outside Tesco, which is next door to Westminster Tube. Apparently, protesters shut the store. Cops turned up, were inside and outside the store. Protesters left after a while.
Well, forced closure will have an impact on their profits…. every little helps!

Well Done keep up the pressure and good work the more shoppers that get to know about this scandal the better.
Tesco have tried on their facebook page to keep inferring that the ‘job’ listing on jobseekers.direct.gov.uk that caused the initial furore was an isolated “IT Error” and this is the spin they have fed to the mainstream press..
I have looked into this on jobseekers.direct.gov.uk etc and it is far from the case. The following Tesco work placement/experience opportunities are on there currently and were added in last 30 days or so :-
HYE/14583
SAB/26264
BGN/10003
WOF/22786
BAL/77596
ESB/24447
SWC/92560
STQ/19899
BEG/43000
RIG/29221
KIB/20033
All are in very simliar vein to the original ‘job’ listing they removed (BSD/27442) once it was spotted and the furore started. Get the word out about this and keep the pressure up ! Well done everyone !
HYE/14583 should read HVE14583
Sorry will get this right in the end I I meant HVE/14583 of course
Good effort and fabulous photos

Happymarx-Protest outside Tesco, Westminster, London…Fabulous Action
Great action Harpy, plus informative, interesting blog generally.
If you haven’t seen this, you’ll find it interesting: http://eoin-clarke.blogspot.com/2012/02/we-can-now-reveal-what-really-happened.html
Was delighted to see this protest. I am boycotting Tesco from now on.
I think that this action and other campaigns could have a real impact on Tesco’s because Tesco’s are frightened to loose their customers and more importantly their customers and their friends and family know they can become unemployed anytime
It was great to hear that Tesco and the other big retailers have now decided that the free labour isn’t worth the reputational damage. Even the Daily Telegraph are talking about a ‘backlash’ and admitting that the government is ‘battling to save’ their version of workfare.
Good news stories are rare, these days. Thanks for helping to make one happen.
